Family photography in west london
Hi, I'm Domagoj. I offer outdoor family photography in Ealing, Chiswick and Richmond. → About me
The name comes from fjaka which is a Croatian concept of living. A state of stillness, of wanting nothing more than what's already in front of you. What to expect
-
London parks (Ealing, Chiswick and Richmond), side streets, riversides. Your favourite spot or one of mine. Somewhere your family can move around and feel free and relaxed.
-
I'll give you something to do together, then step back and shoot what happens. You won't be told where to put your hands or told to smile. You'll be given a reason to laugh, and I'll catch it.
-
A bit imperfect, honestly caught.
I don't feel present as often as I'd like. But sometimes, when I'm on the floor with my son and we both get lost in whatever we're doing, I get this feeling that we have all the time in the world. Those moments don't last long. But they're the ones I keep coming back to.I'm Domagoj. I'm Croatian, I live in West London, and I've spent the last couple of years trying to find more of those moments - through meditation, through slowing down, through paying closer attention to ordinary things. The world started to move too fast: new technologies, new information, new conflicts. Photography is my tool for slowing down and really observe those ordinary but precious moments. I don't direct much. I'll suggest a location, give you something to do together, then mostly follow and wait. What I'm looking for are the in-between bits - the moment just before or just after the one you'd think to photograph. If that's what you're after, let's talk.work
Fyaka is new. The approach isn't - I've been photographing for over ten years. What you'll find here are images that represent the kind of work I'm building toward: human, honest, close.
More coming as sessions develop. If you like what you see at this early stage, I'd love to work with you.

Thirty photographs is more than it sounds. It's enough to tell the full story of one afternoon. Enough for a handful you'll want to print, a few you'll send to grandparents, and one or two that will quietly become the ones you keep coming back to.
A good starting point if you're not sure yet how much you'll want, or if you simply want to try what a Fyaka session feels like.
What's included:
90 minute outdoor session
30 edited images delivered via private online gallery
Full resolution downloads, yours to keep and print
-
The session plus 50 carefully edited images.
Fifty images gives you real breathing room, more of the in-between moments, more of the transitions, more of the bits that don't make the highlight reel but somehow end up being the ones you love most.
For an extra £50 over Essential, you get 20 more images. That's probably the difference between the moment that made you laugh and the moment just after it, when everyone's still laughing and nobody's looking at the camera.

The session plus everything worth keeping.
This is the whole session properly documented. Every image I consider worth delivering, typically somewhere between 80 and 100, sometimes more, edited and yours.
Nothing held back. If you want the complete picture of the day, this is it.
It's also the option that tends to matter most later. Not this year, necessarily. But in ten years, when your kids are teenagers and you're trying to remember exactly how this particular stage felt, you'll want more rather than less.

Not sure which to choose?
Start with Standard. It's the most complete experience without being overwhelming - enough images that nothing important is missing, not so many that you never get through them.
If you want everything and you'll regret leaving anything behind, go Full. The difference is £50 and you'll never have to wonder what you missed.
